Cambridge Audio 851 NS

After an excellent experience with the refurbishment and upgrade of my Luxman L-550X, I sent in some other gear for further upgrades, including the Cambridge Audio 851NS.

I was very curious about the outcome, especially since this is a rather expensive streamer (it cost over €1,500 new), so one naturally expects the manufacturer to have done their absolute best for that price.

Since I was very familiar with the streamer’s original sound, I noticed the difference immediately after the modifications. The improvement is very noticeable.

The soundstage has expanded, the presentation has become beautifully clean, and the bass is rendered exquisitely—exactly as it should be.

Naturally, the higher the quality of the recording, the more apparent the difference became.

Paired with the upgraded L-550X, the performance is truly top-tier (this is my opinion after years of exploring the Hi-Fi world and swapping amplifiers, cables, etc.).

I wish I had discovered Mr. Janečka sooner; it would have saved me a fortune, not to mention all the time spent on endless Hi-Fi research and browsing forums.

This man knows his craft, and his work really speaks for itself.

I highly recommend him; you can experience the professionalism—and, above all, the resulting sound quality of the upgraded components—for yourself.
