Behringer Truth B2031A
I use these monitors for casual home listening, but over time their sound became mundane to me, so I decided to upgrade them.
I didn’t have a completely specific vision; I wanted a realistic, balanced sound—free from the specific sonic character I had grown accustomed to over the years—and I was curious to see what kind of performance I could “squeeze” out of them.
After the modification, I can say the monitors came to life. Their dynamics improved, and they began to noticeably distinguish between recordings based on quality; yet, something was still missing—they didn’t sound quite the way they had at the service center. A problem I hadn’t previously considered came to light: the quality of the input signal. This wasn’t a groundbreaking revelation for seasoned audiophiles, but for me, it was a reality check—what you feed into these speakers is exactly what you get out of them. So, the foundation was excellent; I just needed to fine-tune the related details. I swapped out the signal cables and started using an external sound card; each change resulted in an increasingly better listening experience.
One final detail: the monitors only perform at 100% of their potential once the volume reaches a certain level—though I can’t say if that volume is quite right for the neighbors :)
